Core Values

The core values of  Wide Awake Missions are taken from the Bible and are based on the Bible's requirements to be a disciple and make disciples.

Walking in the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-26 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."

Fearless in Speech

2 Timothy 1:8-9 “So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time."

Willingness to Sacrifice and Suffer

Philippians 3:10 “...know him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings...” We recognize that suffering is part of the call of God to GO, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We don't relish those experiences, but when they do happen, we don’t want to miss the blessing of God’s amazing grace.

1 Peter 4:12-13 “...do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes up for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing...”

Knowing Jesus Is Our Passion

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Being an Example

1 Timothy 4:12-14 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.”

Victory in Spiritual Warfare

Revelation 12:9-11 “...they overcame him because of the blood of the lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even unto death.” There is a power in confessing openly and verbally our faith in Jesus Christ and our testimony. Confessing God’s promises and the truth of His Word will overcome discouragement, doubt, and temptation. It will help keep our vision on the One who is sovereign over the nations and holds all things in the palm of His hand.

The Power of Prayer Is Essential

It is crucial to be aware of our adversary. 1 John 5:19 “...We are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”  We know that the opposition will come in the form of religious barriers and resistance and many other obstacles (1 Peter 5:8 "...satan prowls about like a roaring lion..."), but we believe Paul’s advice in Ephesians 6:10-13: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”

Seizing the opportunity...we venture out with the words in Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go.”
